We are a small local family farm that’s dedicated to teaching children about farm life and sustainability in Southern California. We grow our own vegetables and raise animals from chickens, ducks, sheep, goats and pigs. We want to teach hands-on to the next generation about sustainable living and all the benefits of growing your own food. Come see what we have and learn the many aspects of what it takes to have your own farm, however big or small. We welcome all ages! Margaret Millspaugh

SHADY ACRE FARM
Est. 1973
3423 Temescal Ave.
Shady Acre was started by two "city folks" in 1973. Over the last 50 years, Wayne & Elaine Lindsey have developed their acre into a farm that focuses on small-scale agricultural production. The primary focus is poultry and egg production, but the farm also features a small goat herd, garden boxes, citrus trees, and berries.
A recent renaissance of small-plot agriculture has inspired Shady Acre to work on local licensing and certifications. A treat station along the goat pen and flower beds that serve as a monarch way station have made the Shady Acre a popular stop for folks in the neighborhood on their evening walks.
